I'm sure it's been done before. Post your favorite train liveries here!
I'm partial to seeing the Tacoma Rail cars around my home town. It's clean, looks good, stands out.
Also big fan of Northern Pacific Railway's livery.

Chicago's Metra...but only because the mighty EMD F40C!!!
Wisconsin & Southern. I don't think I've ever seen a single dirty WSOR locomotive.
Norfolk Southern - Because even locos look stunning in black.

No, I'm not kidding. I really wish that instead of painting over graffiti, they'd just get rid of the profane stuff and clean the windows. It looks so much better than plain grey rectangles.

Typical green paint from the 50's.
Also, this locomotive reached 331 kp/h (around 205mph) in... 1955 ! Legend says the pantograph melted...
This speed record was only beaten 25 years later by the TGV (380 kp/h)

I like the blue and yellow C&O colors, but I'm also partial to the purple and gold that the SOO line used to use.

aka the fastest operational steam locomotive in the world. stationed for many years at my fathers and now my workplace until 25 years ago.
the prototype of the now ubiquitous class 143 regional train locos. nowadays they are all painted in the standard and boring db verkehrsrot.

Oh don't worry. The freight graffiti scene is alive and well.. It's just sad that commuter trains will never run with graff again...

One of his private coaches is owned by the Indiana Transportation Museum just north of Indianapolis. They also routinely run one of the first sets of streamlined coaches, and they’re in the process of getting NKP 587 back in service.
